Quick and Easy Handmade Centerpieces

So I am going through all of my photos and finding so many photos of things I made and never blogged about!

A friend asked me to help her with some quick and easy centerpieces for
a small shower.

The couple was expecting their second child, a boy!

I made some simple dark and light blue flowers - 2 small and 2 large
The small flowers had little blue baby feet in the center while the large flowers had a photo of the family in the center.

I found some really inexpensive but cute blue ceramic pots at Michaels and added some brown shredded packing material to the pot as a filler.

They were super easy, quick and came out so cute.

I also helped make cute little tags for the favors.

Barnyard Birthday

I don't believe I have ever highlighted my barnyard invitation design.

It's pretty cute.....

Horse, cow, pig and chick are all hand cut and placed on the invitation making them 3-D.

I have a Barnyard Birthday themed board on Pinterest filled with other great ideas for your Barn Yard themed parties!

Feel free to share your great ideas for a super barn yard party!

Welcome Baby Aaron John!

Just to give you a little idea about how busy I have been now that Aaron (AJ) has joined the family: He will be 6 months old tomorrow and I am just sitting down to write this post!!!

AJ joined us on December 28, 2011 and is such a sweet little boy!

He and his big sister Emma have kept me busy!! I haven't been able to create much and have really missed it. I took on a few jobs from family and a few local people and really hope to get up and running again soon.

I may start taking easy jobs if I am given lots of time to create them!

In the mean time I am going to be updating this blog a bit and sharing some photos of the projects I have been working on!

The island of misfit designs.....

As I was sorting my photos the other day, I came across many photos of things I made but never got a chance to list for sale in my Etsy shop.  I really loved some of the items and really need to sit down and make some to photograph or fine tune the design so that it can be mass produced. Anyway....I thought I'd share some of my favorites here and perhaps you'll see these in the future as a regular store item. Of course, if you love something just contact me and I'd be happy to make it for you.

The above two invitations were designs for a butterfly themed baby shower. The theme was Butterflies and the color was peach. Love these!

Baby Shower - Baseball Theme

A client contacted me and wanted wedding invitations with a Tiger Lily design. Her colors were orange and brown. It never worked out but I would have loved to fine tune these designs.

The above to designs were for a Baby Shower Luau!

A sushi and sake party! 3-D Sushi!!

Baby Jungle Animal Theme dolled up!

I am sure I can find more if I dig around, it's amazing how many things go through the design phase but never make it to production. Many of the above items, were produced for the customer who requested the custom item and I just haven't had a moment to list the design for sale in my shop!

Banners!

I really really wanted to make all of the banners for my little one's first birthday party but things got really busy around her birthday and I had to call for some help at some very talented Etsy Shops.

Recently someone asked if I could make a banner that matched one of my invitation designs and I excitedly told them I could! I knew this was the kick in the pants I needed to finally get some banners in my shop!!

So this is just the beginning - but I plan on designing much more!

If you have a special event coming up and would like a handmade banner,  let me know! I'd love to design something for you!! Pin It Now!

First Birthday Party - LadyBug extravaganza!!!

My little one recently celebrated her first birthday! I figure soon she'll be picking the theme to her parties (princesses, dora, etc) so I took this opportunity to pick a theme that I could run with. You know I love to plan parties!!

After designing a lady bug invitation for a friends baby shower and she did not pick it as the final design. I knew I had to create the lady bug invitation for Emma's birthday and the Ladybug theme was born!!

Here is the invitation I sent out:

You can buy these invitations in my Etsy shop here:

I had it in my head that I would create most of the paper decorations myself and try to get most of the other party items from Etsy.  I then got crazy busy and ended up relying on wonderful Etsy artists for most everything!

Decorations

The top banner "Happy Birthday" Banner was made by: Expressions by Devin
I made the photo banner of Emma with one photo from each month of the year and used
scalloped circles with ladybugs and the month that were created by: Ciao Bambino

Emma's highchair was decorated with a personalized banner also by: Expressions by Devin

Expressions by Devin also made the flowers that I used for the centerpieces.
I got the little tin pails at Michaels and adorned them with ribbon and a custom sticker from

These stickers were great and I used them on the party favors and cups as well.
Made by The Art of Joy

I had a lady bug basket made by Baskets by Elaina and placed the utensils in it.

The Snoop Dog

I even decorated my dog!
Snoopy got his very own lady bug collar just for the event

(he really is excited!)

There were also many items I got from Etsy that I forgot to take pictures of but I don't want to leave them out. Here they all are:

I got a custom crown for Emma (which she refused to wear! :( ) Made by Two Little BluebirdsLadybug Felt Crown -- RESERVED for happyhoundcreative

I got this cute Onesie by Knitty Bitty Apparel  for her to wear for part of the party:
(I forgot to take pictures of her in it but it was so cute on!)

Thank You Cards

I put these customized matchbook favors in all of the Thank You Cards

I designed the Thank You Cards using Clip art

And put a custom Address label (similar to the one listed below) made by The Art Of Joy on the envelopes:

(Please note I blurred out my return address a little)

So there you have it!
The party was a wonderful success and I can't thank the other artists involved enough!!!!

I have put together a treasury as well including the above artists - be sure to check it out and leave some love!!
